This year was Sophia's first Valentine's day. Our neighbor and friend invited us over to her house for a special Valentine's day party. So I decided to sew some outfits for the kids to wear. The fabric was a gift from my mom. And she also provided priceless babysitting while I sewed the outfits. (Without that I never would have finished them in time!)
For Marcus, I made a dress shirt using Burda 9792, view A out of a red and white striped cotton fabric. Marcus HATES tags in his clothing...so I sewed my "mama labels" on to the very front bottom so they wouldn't touch his skin. :)
People probably think I am strange because I always post pictures of the labels inside the clothing. I don't know why I do this. I guess it is probably because I took the time to sew them in, so I guess someone should at least see them. ;)
I sewed a dress for Sophia using some Simplicity Pattern I picked up last time they went on sale for 99 cents. I forget the number. But it is really a simple dress to make. The skirt and straps are made from a cotton red fabric with white hearts. And the bodice is made using the same red & white stripe fabric I used for Marcus's shirt. It is also lined in the heart fabric. And for the grand finale, heart shaped button and heart lace trim. :)
